Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d) - Self Learning Systems Lab at Windber, PA University of Cologne

Windber, PA University of Cologne is a leading research university in Germany, known for its diverse and exceptional research areas, supported by efficient administrative services.

We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Self Learning Systems Lab, led by Assistant Professor Benjamin Gagl, at the Department of Rehabilitation and Special Education.

Our lab focuses on studying neurocognitive processes involved in reading and learning, with the goal of developing computational methods to aid in diagnostic decisions and improve training outcomes in educational settings.

Your responsibilities will include conducting and analyzing experiments in reading and language science, developing computational models, publishing results, and presenting findings at conferences.

You will also have a teaching obligation of four hours per week per semester, as well as conducting your own research and handling administrative tasks.

We are looking for candidates with a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, data science, psychology, empirical educational sciences, psycholinguistics, or a related field.

Experience in research related to reading, learning, dyslexia, or foreign language acquisition is preferred. Proficiency in quantitative data analysis using R or Python, as well as knowledge of Unix-based computer systems, is required. Programming skills, experience with machine learning, or computational modeling experience is a plus.
