    Company Description

    Southbay Structure is a structural design and consulting firm located in Fremont, California. Our licensed and registered structural engineers specialize in the design of new commercial building projects as well as remodeling, tenant improvements, and additions to existing buildings. Over the past 3 years, we have completed over 500 projects.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Entry-level Structural Engineer. Paid holidays, vacation and medical insurance are provided in accordance with company policy.

    Qualifications

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Structural Engineering or a related field
    • Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, is a plus
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform structural engineering analysis and design of wood, steel, and concrete structures, using hand calculations or finite element analysis software
    • Prepare technical reports and calculations
    • Prepare CAD drawings and sketches
    • Manage schedule for assigned projects
    • Work with the Engineering Team to build and maintain library and resources
    • Collaborate with principals and clients to prepare and participate in meetings as requested
    • Communicate with clients (Architects, Contractors, Building Department officials) and other engineers in a professional manner towards project goals, in writing and/or in face to face/phone call conversations
    • Maintain high level of professional and engineering ethics
