Position Description:
The Project Accountant will help support the project management staff while primarily supporting the Project Manager and Project Engineer
Position Qualifications:
+ Business or Accounting degree. + Knowledge of construction accounting. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage different personality types. + Well organized and detail-oriented. + A self-starter and great team player. + Proficient with Microsoft Office. + Must be willing to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Advanced knowledge of Excel. + VBA experience. + CPA or CPA candidate.
Essential Duties:
+ Work closely with Project Engineers and Managers to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting, revenue recognition, and project billing. + Understand contract terms and assist Project Managers in performing project start-up, close-out, internal interim audits and maintaining the life cycle of projects. + Work with staff to provide accurate billings to Owners in accordance with contract terms. + Review project expenses to ensure accurate posting to projects. + Reconcile cost data between project cost ledgers and accounting systems. + Develop, manage and maintain cost controls and labor recaps in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent. + Assist with monthly Margin Analysis and maintenance of Cash Flow Forecast.
