    Summary

    The Production Manager will be responsible for Die Cutting personnel throughout shift to achieve production goals while maintaining quality throughout production day. Adhere to a production schedule; make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals

    Key Activities

    • Works closely with Scheduler to schedule jobs to reduce make-readies when possible.
    • Approves job layouts with Estimator to ensure press capabilities will be met.
    • Works and gets input from Operators for upcoming jobs.
    • Review all the information on the job bag with Operators to make sure they understand what the customer's requirements are.
    • Makes decisions and assists Operators to resolve problems.
    • Explores new technology.
    • Works closely with all Managers
    • Attends meetings when required.
    • Collects data when applicable to reduce cost and improve where necessary.
    • Anticipate or be proactive (not reactive) in problem-solving.
    • Approves Stamping and die cutting as required.
    • Applies accountability when required (i.e. Quality, MR's, run efficiencies, etc.).
    • Find methods to reduce downtime by having all the materials ready for Operators (i.e. job bag, samples, etc. )
    • Monitors equipment efficiency (MR and Run).
    • Works closely with sales, customer service representatives, and customers to review customer requirements/ specifications and color approvals.
    • Communicates when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It might involve solving the problem or recognizing there is a problem.
    • Chooses the right methods to solve a problem by involving other coworkers.
    • Communicates information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
    • Monitors overtime and makes sure it is necessary and productive.
    • Monitors purchases to reduce costs when necessary.
    • Approves jobs on equipment - verifying that process is done correctly and all the specifications are being met using supplied sample, layout, dateline, etc.
    • Monitors preventive maintenance, completed tasks as well as follow-up on outside service and corrective maintenance.
    • Enforces ISO and other company policies by making sure employees are following safety/ housekeeping and product safety policies, work instructions, and procedures.
    • Attends Contract Review/ Preproduction Meetings to detect any problems that your area might encounter before production.
    • Confers with management or Human Resources to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
    • Confers with other supervisors/ managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

    Educations & Experience

    • Has basic technical knowledge of equipment Equipment Previous experience as an Operator.
