Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Job

Job Summary

Lead and develop a high-performance team which includes personnel development, team building, resource management, and manufacturing oversight between design engineering and preparing manufacturing plants for new product introductions.

Primary Areas for this group are ICE powertrain, Cab Structure, Interiors, Outerbody and Chassis.

Team objectives Include:
Translating Plant Requirements into Design Requirements
Completion of Manufacturing PCP Tollgate Deliverables
Development of Returnable Containers
Work across global divisions with shared responsibility supporting new product development
Introducing new Manufacturing Technologies for either product change or process improvements
Developing and Reporting Manufacturing Budget Status for Program Managers

Responsibilities:
Monitor, Manage & Communicate Project Deliverables results and progress
Effectively communicate up, down, and across organizations
Develop engineering plans to meet program objectives and schedule
Onboard, Train & Manage New Employees

Continually improve the processes:
At the Manufacturing Plants
Within Advanced Manufacturing Department
Related to New Product Introduction

Qualifications / Skills:
Detailed Truck Plant process knowledge and general process knowledge within the supply base.
BSME or equivalent engineering degree required; Master's Degree, CMfgE, or PE license preferred
5+ years of technical experience; previous supervisory, project management, and/or lead experience preferred
Experience with Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) required.
Self-directed with excellent analysis and engineering judgement
Experience working within a gated product creation process desired
Experience with system-level requirements development
Ability to perform in a fast-pace, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities
Builds a sense of team and is accountable for team interactions and dynamics
Ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues
Collaborative nature, fosters a sense of team across groups and cultures
Up to 20% travel possible.
Responsibilities

Lead a Team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers in the development of New Product Development Projects to support a variety of opportunities that could include New Engines and Emissions, Battery Electric, Fuel Cell, Autonomous Vehicle platforms, Outerbody and Hoods project to complete the conversion to 2.1m Cabs.

Provide Simultaneous Manufacturing Engineering input to Design Engineering and coordinate plant input and feedback.
Develop Manufacturing and Operations functional requirements documents and validation plans for software and hardware testing and programming.
Complete all necessary Tollgate Manufacturing Documents per the approved schedule.
Develop tooling and equipment budgets including prototype tooling, supplier-based component, assembly, and inspection tooling, plant assembly tooling, and equipment.

Assist in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and lead efforts in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), where appropriate.

Complete DFSS, Black Belt, and Quality projects at the Manufacturing Plants or Suppliers.
Review and develop new technologies for manufacturing, assembling, programming, and testing components and systems.
Supervises the acquisition and implementation of project-related capital tooling assets.

The salary range for the Advanced Manufacturing Supervisor is $106,300 - $166,300 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
