Quality Engineer - Milwaukee, United States - VRC Engineered Solutions
Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Build strong, working relationships with major customer stakeholders and in-house development teams to ensure complete and transparent communication and supportUse Lean Six Sigma tools to coordinate activities to evaluate and help resolve quality-related problemsLog and track customer complaints, due dates, and coordinate 3rd party sorting activities as needed.
Lead the 3L5Y and 8D process, investigating reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems to determine nature and scope of problem that the customer is experiencingInitiate containment of stock at all locations and prevent further substandard production and coordinate the RMA activities as needed, control clean cut-offs throughout and ensure containment is managed while on-going corrective actions are implemented.
Examine, measure, inspect and/or test defective part for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specificationsParticipate in the APQP meetings as directed by the Quality ManagerIdentify anomalies on engineering drawings back to the design function and provide feedbackPromote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, FMEA's, etc.
Facilitate Continuous Improvement projects as assigned.Analyze internal scrap and Cost of Poor Quality trends. Coordinate internal corrective actions to address issues.
Job Skills RequirementsMust be an expert in the Root Cause and Problem Solving Process, and familiar with standard Quality Problem Solving Tools (8D, DMAIC, A3, Fishbone, 5-Why, etc.)
Previous experience with Rubber and Plastic injection molding preferredQuality Process Analyst Certification or similar, ASQ preferredSix Sigma Green Belt preferredMinimum of 5 years' experience in a Quality Assurance Manufacturing positionMust be an excellent communicator to all levels, both internal and externalCreative / Innovative, high level of problem solving, including identifying additional sources of customer feedbackExperience with ISO 9000:2015 or IATF Standards, Internal and 3rd party auditsKnowledge of AIAG core tools as applicable.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Certifications & LicensesSix Sigma Green Belt, preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.
The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
The employee must occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe position is primarily an office-based position with regular visits to the plant floor, vendors, and other partners.The employee occasionally performs work-related travel outside of state.
