Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the inpatient pharmacy in accomplishing the goals of efficiently dispensing medications through preparation of bulk and batch sterile products (IV solutions), providing drugs and supplies to nursing stations and all associated functions that are entailed in that process, and producing accurate patient charges
RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent is required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) licensure required. Maintains current registration with the NM Board of Pharmacy.
SKILLS:
EXPERIENCE:
One-year experience as a pharmacy technician preferred
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
ENVIRONMENT:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to move throughout the hospital at a rapid pace to an entire shift. Hearing must be sufficient to answer telephones and eyesight perform aseptic technique. Must be able to raise moderate loads (less than 50 lbs.) using sound body mechanics alone or with assistance.
