    The Risk division is responsible for credit, market and operational risk, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance throughout the firm.

    Team: Enterprise Risk Management

    Level: Associate

    Location: Dallas

    The Risk Division aims to effectively identify, monitor, evaluate, and manage the firm's financial and non-financial risks in support of the firm's Risk Appetite Statement and the firm's strategic plan. Operating in a fast paced and dynamic environment and utilizing the best-in-class risk tools and frameworks, Risk teams are analytically curious, have an aptitude to challenge, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

    The Enterprise Risk Management team is responsible for ensuring that the firm's risks are managed systemically, such that the firm has a regular, comprehensive view of its risk profile as well as of key trends and emerging risks that could potentially affect the firm's overall risk profile.

    The team ensures that Risk & Divisional leadership is consistently informed on the holistic risk profile, inclusive of financial and non-financial risks, in a way that facilitates strategic planning and risk decision making. ERM interfaces with a wide array of businesses and risk management groups across the Firm. The cross-disciplinary nature of the projects that the ERM team engages in makes for a rewarding and multifaceted work environment

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders within Risk and across other business segments to design, update, review and challenge the firm's risk appetite statement
  • Identify and execute enhancements to the firm's risk appetite framework, including by establishing linkages between risk appetite, the firm's strategic planning, capital planning and risk identification processes
  • Engage with businesses as part of Firmwide Business Planning Process and ensure compliance of businesses' growth plan with the Firm's strategic plan and limits approved by the Risk Division
  • Develop a deep understanding of the risk appetite and limits and associated governance processes to help 1LOD/2LOD stand up processes to support the mandate
  • Build Data analytical and Visualization tools to inform Risk limit allocations, enable granular data driven risk analysis, and offer quantitative analysis to leadership for consideration
  • Prepare materials that clearly communicate Risk Appetite and Business Planning related analyses to a variety of audiences, including the Board and senior management. This analysis will provide both high-level conclusions as well as appropriate technical details

    • Experience/skills required:

  • 3+ years in a risk discipline within the Financial Services / Banking industry
  • Prior experience in Enterprise Risk, Limits calibration and Business Planning roles preferred
  • Good understanding of the various financial and non-financial risk disciplines
  • Working with an object-oriented programming language including Python, R, or Tableau to retrieve and manipulate data for analysis and reporting.
  • Working on multiple tasks and projects and prioritizing competing deadlines accordingly.
  • Communicating complex risk management issues in effective manner to senior management and stakeholders.
