    Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington has an immediate opening for a full-time Patient Advocate/Quality Coordinator. This role maintains patients' rights by educating patients, responding to patient and patient family concerns, resolve patient issues and report unresolved issues by taking a proactive and engaging approach with patients starting upon admission.

    Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is conveniently located in Arlington Texas and is a psychiatric children's hospital providing inpatient programs for children and adolescents. We are committed to providing hope and transforming the lives of children in our community.

    Responsibilities of the Patient Advocate would include the following:

    • Builds a positive rapport with patients and their families upon admission to ensure a patient's stay is satisfactory.
    • Conducts daily rounds with patients to ensure quality care is supported.
    • Resolves concerns by listening to patients and their families. Help them represent their concerns to the appropriate hospital representative and assist in developing acceptable outcomes.
    • Builds professional relationships with hospital's leadership so to enhance in addressing concerns with the appropriate parties and obtain a satisfactory resolution.
    • Documents complaints of patient and patient family members and document details and the appropriate outcome established to address their concerns.
    • Prevents a complaint by counseling with supervisors and managers and assist in problem solving in resolving potential complaints and supports modifying practices to prevent future concerns.
    • Notifies the appropriate parties of any unresolved outcomes. Assist in completing required grievance documents and sending appropriate responses within the required timeframes.
    • Maintains patient and family confidentiality during the whole process.
    • Prepares Performance Improvement monthly and annual reports.
    • Maintains appropriate logs and records for all grievances and complaints and their outcomes.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Great Service Excellence Skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Build respectful relationships.
    • Knowledgeable of Joint Commission standards and State Regulations regarding patient rights, patient complaints and grievance processes.
    • Interact effectively and builds respectful relationships within and between units of the Hospital.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Proficient in conflict resolution.
    • Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.

    Qualified candidates should have the following:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related Behavioral Health major.
    • Minimum of one-year working experience in preferably a behavioral health hospital or community agency.
    • Must be able to obtain Handle with Care and BLS certifications within 30 days of hire.
