    Are you interested in shaping the future talent pool of Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) by attracting and promoting a more diverse and inclusive workforce ? If so, we are seeking a driven, customer-oriented, and experienced Senior Recruiter to join our collaborative and innovative Employment Team responsible for recruitment and selection.

    The Employment Team is dedicated to advancing the mission of the City of Seattle and SPU by facilitating an equitable recruitment and screening process resulting in a diverse andinclusive workforce.


    About the opportunity:

    You'll serve as a trusted advisor and partner providing full-cycle recruitment and technical services to address complex operational and strategic recruitment, selection, and staffing issues.

    Central to this work is partnering with stakeholders to gain a strong understanding of SPU's talent needs. You'll be influential in developing, driving, and executing comprehensive strategies that attract and recruit critical talent. Additionally, there'll be opportunities to actively participate in Citywide employment and Race and Social Justice Initiatives. This position reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager.

    Apprenticeship Programs:
    Water Pipe and Drainage & Wastewater.

    This includes utilizing online applicant tracking system (NEOGOV) to craft job announcements, create time sensitive recruitment plans, recruit and promote, screen applications, and iterative steps working in collaboration with hiring managers and HR colleagues.

    Manage the full-cycle recruitment for SPU's College Internship and Summer Youth Employment programs.

    Responsible for the full life cycle recruiting process, including working with hiring managers to determine job requirements, sourcing appropriate candidates, screening, coordinating and conducting interviews, negotiating and closing offers, and overseeing the new hire onboarding process.

    Coordinate and schedule hiring process assessment (i.e., working tests, interviews, etc.) for candidates and ensure an exceptional candidate experience.
    Ensure eligibility of candidates for positions that require a commercial driver license. Work with candidates to complete and submit required documentation. Conduct DOT background checks and documents appropriately. Schedule pre-employment physicals and drug screen. Establish strong working partnerships with SDHR DOT program administrator and SPU Safety to ensure compliance and best practice.

    Ensure the integrity of the recruitment process is maintained and staffing practices are consistent with City and Department initiatives, legal requirements, and meet business priorities.

    Participate in in-person and virtual job fairs, outreach, and recruitment events.
    Stay informed of industry trends, competitive employment landscape, market intelligence, and innovative recruitment techniques.
    Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

    Experience :
    Two (2) years of professional experience in recruitment, community outreach, human resources, or related field

    Education :

    A Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration,Social Sciences, or related field OR two (2) additional years of relevant experience.

    To be successful in this role, a candidate should possess some of the following attributes:
    (You dont have to have all these things, but maybe you sparkle in more than a few areas.)Well-versed in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) recruiting efforts/ best practices.
    Providing excellent customer service.
    Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
    Experience with online applicant recruiting and tracking software.
    Solid understanding of HR requirements in compliance and confidentiality.
    Experience with candidate sourcing.
    Collaborative attitude with the ability to build strong partnerships with internal/external stakeholders, diverse candidates, and employees at all levels.
    Demonstrated excellence in written/oral communication skills.
    The full salary range for this position is $ $51.22 per hour.
    This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office twice a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.
