    POSITION FEATURES:

    Hiring for multiple clinics in Denver, CO



    PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

    The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This role is responsible for providing and coordinating high-quality care for an assigned group of patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegation of tasks to other healthcare staff may also be required. As a vital part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, this position contributes to decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    All duties are expected to be performed in adherence to Fresenius Kidney Care policies, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines.

    • Performs essential functions under the guidance of the Supervisor and Clinical Educator.
    • Collects and analyzes patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis treatment, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
    • Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
    • Coordinates safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
    • Administers medications as prescribed and responds to emergencies.
    • Serves as a resource for the healthcare team and ensures proper laboratory procedures.
    • Updates care plans in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
    • Promotes patient awareness of treatment options.
    • Completes CAP requirements for career advancement.
    • Performs other assigned duties.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    This role involves direct patient care, including heavy lifting, patient movement, and prolonged standing. The employee must be able to handle physical demands such as bending and lifting.

    • May be required to move heavy equipment and assist with tasks.
    • Working environment includes temperature variations and moderate noise levels.
    • Exposure to infectious materials may occur.
    • Day-to-day tasks include desk work, computer use, interacting with patients and staff, and potential travel to different locations.

    SUPERVISION:

    Oversees Patient Care Technicians/LPNs/LVNs/RNs as a Team Leader, following specified requirements.

    • Completion of FKC education and training programs.
    • Minimum 9 months experience as a RN.
    • Minimum 3 months experience in hemodialysis as a RN.

    EDUCATION and LICENSURE:

    • Graduate of an accredited Nursing School.
    • Current state licensure and CPR BLS Certification.
    • Compliance with state practice requirements.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    • Entry level RNs with less than 1 year of Nephrology Nursing experience.
    • At least 9 months of RN experience (preferred).
    • Prior experience in hemodialysis (preferred).

    Hourly rate: $38 - $50/hr
