    Description

    We are seeking a Sales Manager to join Cornell Catering, the preferred catering service for Cornell University events. With over 35 years of experience, our team provides exceptional food and beverages for formal banquets, weddings, and intimate dinners. As a Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining client relationships, exploring new business opportunities, and ensuring client satisfaction.

    • Demonstrate excellent customer service by promptly responding to event inquiries, calls, and emails.
    • Display flexibility and creativity in addressing unique client concerns.
    • Show strong organizational skills to follow up with clients and stay updated on catering trends.
    • Identify growth opportunities to surpass sales targets across departments and campuses.
    • Be adaptable to work varied hours in a dynamic environment that focuses on client happiness.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Associates degree in hospitality or related field and at least two years of experience in a hospitality or catering sales environment. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective sales and negotiating abilities.
    • Proficiency in MS Word Office productivity tools.
    • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs during events.
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and well-being.
    • Understanding of cultural differences.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional or education experience in a collegiate hospitality setting.
    • Familiarity with the Cornell campus and its departments.

    This position is based in Ithaca, New York, and requires onsite work. Please note that relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not provided.
