- Utilize strong leadership skills to build Medsurg team internally and building Medsurg team rapport externally including patients and providers.

- Assist in training and orientation for new team members assuring that competencies have been completed in an appropriate time frame.
- Provide guidance in the standardization of departmental procedures.
- Assure department performance improvement plan is implemented and quality measures are monitored and acted upon in an appropriate manner.

- Work closely with Supervisor and Director to assure smooth operation.

Description
Job DescriptionThe Medsurg RN Team Lead collaborates to guide and interpret policy and procedure, and assure timely and effective communication and collaboration between individuals and departments. Represents the organizational leadership throughout the health system and collaborates to make decisions, bring information in regards to practice, and act on behalf of the Patient Care Services leadership team. Oversees those who perform duties in the Medsurg unit to include guiding orientation to new team members, performance improvement measures, and scheduling.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements
Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English. Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive/email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information tools. Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by the commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oklahoma or Multistate Licensure in a Party state in compliance with primary residency rules and requirements. American Heart Association BLS required; ACLS and PALS desired. For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained. *Safety-Sensitive Position **As a condition of employment, vaccinations are required per DRH Policy. Medical and Religious Exemptions are available upon request.
