    Description

    Purpose :

    The Press Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating the mechanical press line with coil handling and part transfer equipment.

    Incumbent must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards regarding assembly and work instruction specifications.


    Essential Functions :
    Set-up and operate mechanical press line with coil handling equipmentPerform machine set-ups as needed when the production schedule demands.

    Trouble shoot machines and adjust the functions and settings of machines Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelinesTest the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth runningPerform operator preventative and regular maintenance on press to ensure that their operational life is extended.

    Conduct operations in a manner that promote safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.

    Participate in 6S activities RequirementsRequirements (Consider the required knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and/or equipment)High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical degree a plus1+ years previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment Prior press or transfer press experience desiredWorking knowledge of mechanical pressExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desiredCompliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and proceduresAttention to detail.
    Excellent attendanceWilling to learn new job-related skills.
    Ability to work off shifts.
