    Cloud Engineer - Denver, United States - ITEOM

    Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled IT Operations - Cloud Engineer - Azure to join our dynamic team. This senior technologist will focus on advanced Azure support across a substantial server environment. The role is pivotal in designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing our cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with strategic objectives.
    REMOTE - West Coast Service Area (WA, OR, NV, AZ, MT, CO, UT, WY, NM remote work)

    Responsibilities

    • Implement and manage Azure cloud components such as virtual networks, subnets, security groups, and various Azure connectivity solutions.
    • Design and deploy Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, ensuring efficient operation and alignment with business needs.
    • Develop automation tools and scripts (PowerShell, ARM templates) to streamline cloud operations.
    • Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support, ensuring system stability and prompt issue resolution.
    • Lead migration projects to transfer on-premises systems, files, databases, and applications to the Azure cloud.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and recovery processes.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and safety standards, maintaining a commitment to workplace safety.
    • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance.
    • Perform additional duties as required by management.
    • A perfect candidate is more focused on VDI, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Networking experience to round out our client's team; less DevOps, Data, App Services. You've likely come up as working in Systems and working with InTune, SCCM, moving into Cloud Services.
    • You're likely well-rounded, and can think beyond operations; working cross functionally with networking and security teams to design, deploy AND support new cloud solutions to meet a growing business demand.
    Requirements
    • Certifications required: AZ-900, AZ-104; preferred: AZ-140.
    • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Azure in a large-scale environment.
    • Profound knowledge of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
    • Experience in both Windows and Linux system administration.
    • Understanding of cloud security frameworks and best practices (e.g., SOC 2, PCI, NIST).
    • Strong grasp of Azure networking concepts and disaster recovery strategies.
    • Demonstrable skills in cloud database services and identity management systems.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
    • Associate degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
