- Scan all patient documents into the patient's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and manage all release-of-information requests.
- Answer phones and take messages or transfer calls as needed.
- Assist as coverage for patient registration and assist patients with scheduling appointments
- Assist the Purchased and Referred Care technicians with sending and getting medical documentation from providers.
- Utilize information technology systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) or RPMS
- Responsible for complete charting is updated as required.
- Perform work with multicultural patients and interpreters as necessary for non-English speaking patients.
- Assist the Supervisory Health Systems Specialist as needed for duties to be performed
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Eight (8) hours/day; Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week
- Hours will typically be 8:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.
- Related customer service experience within the past twelve (12) months
- Current American Heart Association Certifications (BLS).
- Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office, Adobe, and conferencing software.
- Proficient writing and organizational skills.
- Must follow all appropriate federal required information Technology security requirements and will be operating under Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) and Privacy Act regulations.
- All healthcare providers must attend mandatory orientations specified by the IHS
- The contractor must be subject to character investigation as required by Public Law , the Indian Health Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act
- Some walking and standing are required. You may have to lift and carry equipment (i.e. books, tools) weighing approximately 10-15 pounds.
- Most of the work is performed indoors
- Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time
- Requires standing for periodically
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend
