    The Opportunity

    The City of Coppell Public Works (Operations- Water Quality) Department seeks to bring on a Water Quality Operator to our team

    As a City of Coppell Water Quality Operator, you will join the Water Quality Team with the mission of making Coppell the place you want to be. You will exceed customer expectations, collect daily chlorine residuals, investigate water leaks, and proactively address concerns related to the quality of the city's drinking water. Additional responsibilities include flushing paint, servicing fire hydrants, operating the valve truck to inspect main valves, and installing valve pads. You will have the responsibility of assisting in the repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines, cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and all work areas.

    Schedule Commitment Outside of Normal Operating HoursAbility to work weekends once a month to perform daily rounds, respond to after-hour emergency calls, SCADA alarms, and severe winter weather, and work overtime when assigned.

    Pay Structure
    This opportunity is non-exempt and budgeted on Pay Grade #8.
    The full Pay Grade range is shown for development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.

    Hiring Range: $21.42-$23.53Min $ ,
    Mid $26.24 ($54,568.80)Max $$31.06 ($64,600.64)
    Eligibility

    Education
    • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
    Experience/Knowledge/Skillsets
    • Two Years' Experience in a related field is preferred
    • A Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License, with a good driving record
      • A Class "A" Commercial Driver's License is preferred
    • A Valid Class C Water License from the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
    • A Class I Wastewater Collection License from the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) will be required within six months post-hire for continued employment
