The Events Manager is responsible for soliciting local companies and organizations for banquet functions, providing catering/banquet services to groups with meeting room and event needs, and overseeing the servicing of clients.

The Events Manager is also responsible for meeting or exceeding events and catering revenues as stated in the budget.


What will I be doing?
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Solicit events and banquet businesses to drive event bookings to achieve annual revenue targets.
  • Responsible for recontracting annual, repeat bookings at the hotel.
  • Increase group & event revenues through creative proposals and effective upselling techniques.
  • Manage critical corporate, government, and stakeholder events, product launches, and group business operations.
  • Strong internal communication ensures the hotel is fully briefed through banquet event orders and pre
- and post-con meetings.

  • Participate in relevant alignment meetings related to sales and marketing.
  • Manage relationships with external Audio-Visual suppliers and identify opportunities to drive additional revenue.
  • Maintain professional relationships and contact with those in the local community and elsewhere who will benefit the hotel and group.

To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:


  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in banquet, events, conference services, and marketing.
  • Hotel Sales preferred and/or operational hotel experience, proven sales track record a plus.
  • Possess strong communication & coordination skills.
  • Must be a natural organizer (highly detailed and able to engage with guests), analytical, have financial acumen (budgeting), and can diffuse difficult situations with charisma.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of management and staff.
  • Selfstarter; creative; independent yet teamoriented; excellent communication and presentation skills; socially adept; charming and peopleoriented.
