    School of Medicine

    The Health System encompasses Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, Duke Health Integrated Practice, Duke Primary Care, Duke Home Care and Hospice, Duke Health and Wellness, and multiple affiliations.

    This Research Technician II position is 100% grant funded and is expected to be for one year. Extensions will be contingent on funding, performance, and needs of the lab.


    We are a dynamic research team dedicated to unraveling the intricate mechanisms underlying mRNA and R-loop-dependent DNA repair (RDDR) in cancer.

    Our mission extends beyond understanding the complexities of RDDR; we are committed to developing targeted therapies by targeting this pathway.

    Research support will include, but is not limited to, the following:


    • Conducting experimental research to investigate the mechanisms of mRNA and R-loop-dependent DNA repair in cancer.
    • Utilizing screening platforms to monitor the RDDR pathway and assess the function of RDDR proteins implicated in disrupting RDDR in cancer cells.
    • Assessing the therapeutic potential of mRNA-modifying enzymes for treating cancers characterized by heightened genome instability.
    Other duties as needed or assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.

    Experience

    None required above education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
