    Job Description

    The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of the warehouse and office systems and space at the Perot Family Campus, serving as a contact for emergency situations. In addition, this role will support vendors and facilitate repairs to minimize equipment downtime.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Refrigeration/HVAC, plumbing, or electrical licensing preferred

    Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to work independently and proactively
    • Excellent customer service, time management, and organizational skills
    • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Proficiency in English
    • Collaborative work approach in a diverse environment
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and basic Excel knowledge
    • Familiarity with OSHA regulations

    Experience:

    • 2 years of general facilities maintenance experience (commercial setting preferred)
    • Experience with forklift and scissor lift operation preferred
    • Prior exposure to warehouse operations is advantageous
    • 1 year experience in HVAC Preventative Maintenance procedures and repairs

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Respond promptly to all service requests for facility equipment
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance following schedule
    • Execute basic electrical and plumbing tasks and identify when specialists are needed
    • Transport goods using company vehicle as designated
    • Assist vendors, monitor service quality
    • Conduct various maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and minor repairs
    • Ensure safety checks, report hazards
    • Maintain forklift trucks, oversee weekly maintenance
    • Keep utility rooms organized and undertake cleaning duties
    • Monitor refrigeration units and report issues
    • Supervise alarm systems, take necessary actions
    • Assist in conference room setups and support outdoor events
    • Provide facilities guidance to team members in absence of supervisor
    • Perform other assigned tasks

    MENTAL DEMANDS:

    • Adaptability to workplace stressors, meeting deadlines, and managing priorities
    • Ability to read, communicate effectively, comprehend instructions, and analyze information

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Frequent physical activity including walking, standing, bending, and lifting objects
    • Specific vision requirements and ability to lift weights up to 70 pounds

    ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

    • Moderate to loud noise environment
    • Standard working hours with possibility of weekends and holidays
    • Requirement of valid DL, insurance, and reliable transportation
