    Description


    The Finance Analyst II - Operations will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing variances, executing monthly close procedures, and assisting in inventory reporting and analysis.

    This position is a member of the Finance Operations team and will support the information needs of cross-functional partners including Global Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics & Distribution, and Compliance.

    The roll will interact with management staff and all levels of production and use analytical and problem-solving skills to meet the goals of the organization.

    General Responsibilities

    Support the execution of accurate, timely, and efficient financial close processes related to manufacturing and operations
    Work with business unit and plant accounting staff to validate, record, and communicate manufacturing variances
    Maintain proper account balances in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP, including Excess & Obsolete reserves, LIFO reserves, and Freight reserves for North America manufacturing plants
    Prepare month-end account reconciliations and accompanying journal entries
    Support the analysis and formal review of general ledger activity to ensure the integrity of account balances at a location level while supporting business insights

    Execute operations-related processes and internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, internal polices, and statutory and/or local regulations
    Establish and maintain adherence to company policy related to the cycle count program
    Monitor results, support initiatives to improve and maintain compliance
    Perform quarterly SOX testing specific to inventories
    Support inventory disposal process
    Prepare year-end work papers for external auditors

    Prepare consolidated and plant-level operations reporting
    Evaluate inventory composition, review inventory transactions, and examine global inventory cycle count accuracy
    Analyze manufacturing costs and processes to identify areas of improvement that will improve efficiency and impact profitability
    Analyze key weekly / monthly inventory and manufacturing measures
    Evaluate monthly variable budget updates and spending variances
    Analyze production order variance and articulate key drivers
    Ad hoc reporting as needed

    Actively support cross-functional support stakeholders
    Support cross-functional team with purchase price variance analysis
    Supplier relationship management support including supply issue and liability/risk resolution, performance management tracking, and operational support (Direct/Indirect)
    Support the maintenance and oversight of freight rates (inbound / outbound)
    Demonstrate proficiency in key/appropriate sourcing systems, including SAP

    Professional Experience / Qualifications

    The successful candidate will be an engaged, high-energy financial professional with solid accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing-based industry. Also, the candidate will possess a strong, positive 'roll-up-your-sleeves and do whatever it takes' attitude.

    The Successful Candidate's Qualifications Should Include

    B.S. degree in accounting or finance, CPA required, MBA a plus
    3+ years serving as an auditor or Financial Analyst
    Job level subject to change depending on the candidate's work experience
    Experience in a manufacturing organization preferred
    Continuous improvement mindset and experience to drive repeatable and efficient processes, including experience with integrations
    Proficient in finance, accounting, US GAAP, SOX, company internal policies and procedures, and internal control frameworks
    Strong Microsoft skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
    Experience with Power BI, Business Warehouse, or other data mining tool experience a plus
    SAP experience preferred
    Strategic thinking and process improvement focused
    Strong verbal and written skills
    Ability to influence and persuade a plus
