Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
Licenses or Certifications:
- Valid current Texas Class "C" Driver License.
- May require valid Texas Commercial Driver License with endorsements within 90 days of hire.
- Must be able to become certified for Respiratory Protection and Confined-Space Entry Program within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification.
Notes to Applicants
South Austin Regional receives wastewater flow from Austin Water Utility's sanitary sewer collection system and treats it before returning it to the Colorado River. South Austin Regional is also a key facility in meeting Austin's reclaimed water needs for non-potable water.
The Treatment Plant Worker position provides site support by performing building and campus maintenance and assists technicians in the maintenance and repair of plant equipment.

Retention Incentive Bonus:
- This position may be eligible for an Incentive Bonus of up to
$3,000
$500 after 90 days.

This position is considered essential and may be required to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and/or callback work.
Driving Requirement:
This position requires a valid current Texas Class "C" Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date.
City of Austin's Driver Record Evaluation (DRE
) requisite.
To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:
- Manual labor experience including but not limited to equipment and building maintenance, routine painting, plumbing, or construction.
- Experience using various industrial lawn care equipment such as gas powered weedeater & blowers, hydrostatic riding mower, chain saws, pneumatic power tools, pressure washer, and hand tools.
- Industrial Math Skills.
- Knowledge of safety practices required in an industrial or shop environment.
- Organizational Skills.
