This is a non-merit position with Health & Human Service .The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a Psychiatrist to join the team at the Glenwood Resource Center (GRC) which offers a continuum of care to Iowans experiencing intellectual disabilities.
This is a full-time position with an 8:00 a.m.– The Psychiatrist reviews and prescribes psychotropic medications as needed and provides service for crisis situations with a mental health component.
Along with other responsibilities and duties, this position participates in various assemblies such as doctor's meetings, pharmacy and therapeutics conferences, and Psychiatric Peer Review.
GRC's Psychiatrist works collaboratively as part of the health care team which includes Nurses, CNAs, Psychologists, Nurse Practitioners, and other Physicians to provide consensus within the treatment plan.
The Psychiatrist must be a licensed Physician in the State of Iowa and Board Certified or eligible in Psychiatry.
Employees are eligible for a $1,500 retention payment for a commitment of 7 pay periods (14 weeks) and are eligible for renewal at the end of each 7 pay periods until the facility closes.
