    Description

    Job Responsibilities:
    Minimal supervision to design, development and testing of new composite productsMinimal supervision to design of complex composite layup molds and complex assembly fixturesUnder supervision participates in engineering activities to define product requirements, create designs, perform simulation testing and validation of final hardware componentsPerforms mechanical component development and integration, while using Computer-Aided-Design conceptsSolves a variety of mechanical engineering issues and improves existing designsImplement and improve composite manufacturing processesPerforms value analysis during the product design phase while optimizing product development costsDevelop program engineering plans ensuring all aspects of the design, manufacturing, and testing phases are identified and feasibleUse experience to guide the program team to successReviews the work of other engineers as requiredIdentify and understand project risks, and develop mitigation plansOther responsibilities as assignedSkills:Competent in the design of complex composite parts including bonded & bolted composite/metallic assembliesAbility to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solvingAdvanced Skills in CATIAAbility to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools Nastran, FEMAPExperienced in the design of composite tooling and assembly fixturesAdvanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, materials science, and structural analysis)

    Strong understanding of Design For Manufacturing (DFM)Advanced understanding of composite manufacturing processesAbility to explain a range of complex technical informationExperienced in engineering drawing generation and GD&TStrong Microsoft Excel userEffective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completionLead a team of engineers effectively and maintain accountability for milestonesUnderstands the engineering process from concept generation to hardware fabrication, and is able to identify the necessary tasks required for program successExcellent writing and communication skills with ability to create clear and succinct presentations and reports to communicate processes and project results with internal and external customersExperience with composite design and manufacturing processesAbility to draw on past experience to solve engineering challenges in a team environmentJob Specifications:
    Education: Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectationsYears' Experience: 3 to 8 years of relevant experience
