Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shelter Project Manager with a background in non-profit organizations to oversee the coordination of shelter service partners and ensure effective communication with the City of Chicago.

The Shelter Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing daily operations, reporting, and addressing the needs of shelter residents.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or immigration challenges.

Responsibilities:

Stay informed about new arrivals and missions, updating shelter policies and procedures as needed to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.
Oversee data entry and reporting on resident census, bed availability, and resident exits, providing daily reports to the City of Chicago to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Coordinate resident visits and transportation to offsite services at the Multi-Agency Response Center and Cook County Health clinic, ensuring residents have access to essential services and support.
Coordinate with meal delivery, healthcare, legal services, and other partners providing onsite services, fostering collaborative relationships to enhance support for shelter residents.
Elevate needs identified by Shelter Managers to the City, including requests for supplies, donations, and addressing service gaps to ensure the effective functioning of the shelter.
Coordinate City staff and other volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and efficient delivery of services.
Respond promptly to emergency situations as they arise, implementing protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of shelter residents and staff.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience working with nonprofit organizations, particularly in the field of homelessness support services or immigrant assistance, is highly desirable.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community partners to achieve common goals.
Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and respond effectively to emergent situations.
Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of shelter operations.

Pay:
From $47.00 per hour

Expected hours:
No less than 35 per week
