Position Overview:


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct intake assessments with shelter residents to identify their needs, goals, and strengths.
  • Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with residents, outlining steps to address their immediate needs and longterm goals.
  • Provide ongoing support and advocacy to residents, assisting them in accessing healthcare, housing, legal assistance, and other essential services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting resident progress, services provided, and outcomes achieved.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including shelter staff, community organizations, and government agencies, to coordinate services and support for residents.
  • Conduct regular followup with residents to monitor progress, address concerns, and provide additional support as needed.
  • Stay informed about relevant social services, immigration policies, and resources available to support shelter residents.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working in migrant shelters, immigration services, or homelessness support is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when working with individuals experiencing homelessness or displacement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour
