Each of our ingredients responds to unique and essential needs, and they enable healthier lifestyles.Position OverviewThe Production Engineer acts as a resource to Operations by applying technical skills, such as optimizing plant processes, troubleshooting department chemical and mechanical complications, and facilitating the safe and efficient production of low cost, quality products with environmental impacts in mind.
This role assists daily with department operations and process optimization, as well as occasionally working with other intercompany groups on larger scale items.
Essential FunctionsAccountable to all Roquette & site policies and procedures relating to HSE, Quality, GMP etc.Responsible for compliance and participation in all HSE programsLead and/or participate in project initiatives to improve the safety, quality, reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of plant operationsSupport and align with site objectivesImplements best practices in order to optimize operationsWorks with Production Supervisors and Process Control Engineers to ensure process control is optimized in the facilityCoordinates and supervises project implementation, controls project costs, monitors progress and quality of projectsLeads and/or assists with process changes through MOC development and maintenance of standard operating proceduresLeads activities and participates in project initiatives to improve the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of plant operations by applying Six Sigma Methodology and technical support to projects as neededResponsible for departmental OEE trackingLeads and/or assists with coordination of plant shutdowns, including coordination of plant personnel tasks, hiring contractors, and ensuring all necessary materials/equipment are obtainedNetworks with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operationsComplete various laboratory analyses regarding enzymes, resin, and process samplesPerform miscellaneous duties as assignedRequired Competencies, Education and ExperienceBS Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical EngineeringNew graduates accepted, 3+ years of experience preferredExperience in Corn Wet Milling / Ethanol Production / Paper Industry / Chemical Industry / Hydrogenation / Separation / Crystallization / Ion Exchange / Evaporation experience desiredWorks with minimal supervision, self-starterAbility to consistently deliver top quality work and meet agreed upon timelinesDemonstrated strong technical skills and personal drive in continuous process for improvement and cost optimizationDemonstrated complex operational problem-solving and troubleshooting experienceDemonstrated strong organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, and self-motivationDemonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with engineers, managers, hourly employees and cross-functional teamsDemonstrated strong organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, and self-motivationExperience with OEE & SPC recommendedGreen belt and Black belt certification not required, but preferredExperience with PSM element implementation, compliance and auditing preferredIf you identify yourself in this position, please apply by uploading your resume and let's start the journey together Roquette is proud to be a global company where you can find personal and professional growth through multiple diverse experiences.
