    SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION:
    Involves analysis of complex business problems using data to provide insight to decision

    makers

    .

    Develops

    forecasts, recommendations, and strategic / tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Works with business

    partners and

    leadership

    to understand and prioritize

    system

    and information requirements.

    Focuses on managing

    enterprise

    technology platforms to support Business

    Intelligence

    , Analytics, Data Management, Real-time data integration and Application development.

    s by applying automation and industry best practices across multiple infrastructure and application driven environments.


    REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Project Management and Leadership
    Timely completion of personally assigned tasks and assist with the execution of the tasks of others. Balance multiple project and support requirements for self and team.

    Recommend and lead initiatives with new tools and technology across both structured and unstructured datasets, analytic tools, scripting language and streaming data infrastructure .

    Participate and drive agile methodologies and DataOps principles to improve the communication, integration, reuse and automation of data flows between data managers and consumers across the organization.

    Proactive in the identification of potential issues and conceptualizing solutions. Lead projects to decrease downtime and system issues.

    Lead and mentor teammates in evaluating and monitoring system performance and functionality to avoid potential issues as well as gathering information for future development needs or feasibility studies.


    • Platform Design & Implementation

    Lead implementation initiatives to ensure health, scalability and efficiency of technology platforms to support Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Management, real-time data integration and application development.

    Develop roadmaps managing our platforms as a product in collaboration with development teams to enhance productivity.

    Mastery in multiple platforms to lead and implement complex monitoring, health checks and processes enabling continuous integration and continuous delivery.

    Develop standards to ensure compliance with security, access control, cost-management and performance management. Lead upgrades, updates or new platform implementation. Work with vendors when necessary to ensure CCHMC investments and requests are being adequately supported and enhanced. Serve as primary designer and point person for multiple platforms.


    • Technical Support & Customer Service

    Ensure outstanding end-user support is provided, including ongoing monitoring of Service Level Agreements for incident management and collaboration with other areas to ensure customer-centered incident management and support.

    Adhere to, develop/refine and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures. Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers. Provide third-level problem resolution and technical support.

    Develop support documentation processes, including an update and review process to ensure junior staff can adequately support all production workflows.

    Set standards for the development of proactive monitoring systems (in collaboration with platform engineers) to identify problems before they impact production customers.

    Escalate with vendors when necessary to ensure CCHMC investments and requests are being adequately supported and enhanced. Serve as an escalation point for junior staff and escalate support issues with urgency.
    Qualifications:

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Required:


    • Bachelor's degree in related field
    • 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
    Preferred:

    Unique Skills:

    • Technical Ability

    Deep understanding of infrastructure technologies such as servers, operating systems, storage or networking including knowledge of multiple infrastructure environments (public cloud, private cloud, virtualized, automated on-premises).Mastery of Platform and Data Management practices and architectures.

    Advanced expertise in core Software & Data Engineering and automation technologies, including SQL, object-oriented/object function scripting data serialization languages (JSON/YAML), markup languages, automation and deployment tools such as PowerShell, JSON, ARM Template, APIs and XOps principles and practices.

    Deep understanding of core CCHMC/healthcare clinical, business and research processes to help build appropriate platform solutions. Build additional skills and understand cutting edge data engineering advances through continuing education. Mentor and direct the educational goals of junior staff in developing their business and technical skills. Oversee the overall platform engineering portfolio, to ensure all platforms are being appropriately leveraged. Work with vendors where appropriate to understand product road maps to ensure alignment. Become a data and analytics evangelist.
