    POSITIONSUMMARY/OVERVIEWOFRESPONSIBILITIES

    The Executive Director is the leader of the organization, establishing a vision through collaboration with community leaders, volunteers, and staff.

    The vision should build upon our existing frameworkof community impact through the efforts of a diverse team of committed leaders, staff and volunteers.

    In this position, the Executive Director must be able to build or mobilizerelationshipsandnetworksacrosstheprivate,publicandcorporatesectorstoimprove conditions in the community by increasing resources and financial support for the United Way of Bartow County.

    The Executive Director will need to understand contemporary work force practices as well as the knowledge to lead innovation to meet the changing world of non-profit relevancy.

    All of this work requires a leader with great integrity, understanding the value of growing and protecting the reputation and brand of United Way.

    KEYRESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIESOFPOSITION

    CommunityImpact
    TheExecutiveDirectorisresponsiblefortheoverall successfulimpactofUnitedWayofBartow County with the community, with emphasis on increasing its capacity to drive the impact agenda. The strategy to achieve this increased impact is developed and adapted in close collaboration with the Board.

    This impact can only occur with increased support and funding which will happen as the Executive Director establishes and builds relationships with key leaders in the community from the business, government and non-profit sectors.

    ResourceDevelopment
    The Executive Director will have the skills and experience that will drive results in fundraising. He/she will need to be able to identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors and the key leadersofprospectivenewcorporatepartners.
    The ExecutiveDirectorwillassisttheMarketing and Engagement Manager to gain more potential donors.

    She/he will promote a culture of traditional and innovative fundraising in the organization, at both the staff and board level.

    StrategicManagement
    TheExecutiveDirectorservesastheprincipalresourcetotheBoardofDirectorsanditskey committees and gives strong direction in policy formulation and interpretation.
    he/she develops goals and develops strategies to ensure that they are achieved. She/he ensurescoordinationandalignmentofallUnitedWayactivitiestothestrategicdirectionof community impact, resource development, and staff alignment.
    OrganizationManagement

    The Executive Director is accountable for building and leading high-performing teams, ensuring all teams are aligned and collaborating to achieve organizational results.

    S/he maintains accountabilityfortheoperationalandfiscalintegrityoftheorganizationwithinpoliciessetbythe Boardof Directors as well as guiding the Executive Board Treasure to manage organizational spending, monitor budget compliance and mitigate financial risks.

    The Executive Director assesses organizationalcapacityto implement strategies and identify gaps in systems and staffing.

    The Executive Director ensures that United Way of Bartow Countygoals of inclusiveness and diversity among staff and volunteers are met.

    S/he acknowledges and celebrates the success of staff and volunteer attainment of goals.
    EXPERIENCE/POSITIONREQUIREMENTS
    10 years or more of progressively responsible experience in the leadership and managementofanorganizationwithexperienceinimplementingtraditionaland innovative resource development strategies.
    Preferpriorexperienceworkinginanon-profitorganizationofcomparablesizeand similar mission.
    United Way experience is desirable but not required.
    Supervisionandleadershipexperienceofastaff.
    Bachelor'sdegreefromanaccreditedschoolispreferred,howeverrelevantwork experience may be substituted.
    Demonstratedandprovenhistoryofdedicatedcommitmenttocommunitybyinvolvement in roles on a committee or board member of community organization.
    Must be able to work independently if other staff person is away or unavailable.
    Hasemotionalintelligencetomaintainworklifebalanceforselfandstaffwhileworking on multiple priorities.
    Experienceincreatingaworkatmosphereconduciveto creativityandinnovationtobuild revenue and increasing philanthropic support.

    Should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs and able to easily able to learn other software applications used in daily operations.

    Opentoexploringnewideasandinnovativeapproachestosolvingproblems.
    Cultivateresourcesingrantmakingtoassistourpartneragencyprogramsthatalignwith organizational goals and address community needs.

    The person in this position regularly is required to remain in a stationaryposition, and frequently operatesacomputerandotherofficeproductivitymachinerysuchasacalculator,copier,printer, and scanner.
    The person in this position needs to move about inside the office occasionally to access file cabinets,officemachinery,etc.
    Regularvisitstothefundedpartners,aswellascommunityevents, require the person to move about inside other office spaces as well. Additionally, they must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

    OtherRequirements:
    Musthaveavaliddriver'slicense,automobileinsurance,andareliable vehicle.
    Abilitytotraveldomesticallybasedonbusiness needs.

    SALARY&BENEFITS
    Thesalaryrangeforthispositionis $50,000to$75,000dependingonexperience.
