- Deliver safe, direct care to an assigned group of patients
- Work in collaboration with the healthcare team, implement and document individualized care plans
- Assist with special tests and procedures
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
- Participate in educational programs and attend in-services, meetings, and workshops
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
- Program graduate
- Nationally Accredited Nursing graduate
- CPR certification for Healthcare/BLS within 30 days of hire
- Active RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
- PALS certification is a plus
- TNCC and/or ENPC certification is a plus
- Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
- Signature Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials require PPE

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room department. The OR Registered Nurse will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to patients in the OR. They will also assume relief charge duties when designated and provide clinical leadership for other staff. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups. Those who join UNM Hospitals will have the chance to participate in the Clinical Advancement Program and work towards one of five CAP levels that offer increasing compensation.
