- Scheduling surgeries in the office, over the phone, or at satellite locations.
- Counseling patients on all outpatient surgical instructions
- Obtaining signatures from patient on Informed Consents and Post-Operative Release forms
- Verifying insurance benefits on surgery patients and determines if pre-certification is required by their insurance company
- Setting up the post-operative appointments with referring doctors offices or surgeons
- Scheduling surgeries with the facility
- Preparing surgery chart for each surgeon, including pre-certifying surgery; obtaining the post op report from the referring doctor; typing the discharge letter and sending to referring doctors; reviewing with the patient the surgical instructions, appointment calendar and eye drops schedule for patients pre and post-operative care.
- Entering surgery appointments and post op appointments in the scheduling system
- Communicating and provide billing team all necessary documentation for billing of procedures

- Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience in ambulatory surgery environment, preferably operating room preferred, including direct patient care. Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately.

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling ophthalmic surgeries for the respective physician with our partner ASC's and hospitals.
