Summary


The Alternative Markets Manager - Foodservice is accountable for leading, managing and growing the C-Store, Military, Vending and all other alternative markets.

As a highly successful sales driver and leader, they will build strong partnerships and personally manage key accounts for long-term growth.

In addition to exhibiting the ability to sell on their own, they must possess the ability to lead and coach broker partners to ensure success, growth and relationship building with key clients.

As the manager, they will create segment sales strategies and develop new business through channel and account acquisition.

This role is a savvy business manager that employs holistic key account management by working collaboratively with the Internal Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Trade & Finance teams to grow sales through solution selling, innovation, promotions, marketing, and e-commerce solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver targeted sales and profit increases in assigned markets & clients.
  • Identify, exploit, and forecast new business opportunities consistently filling your sales pipeline.
  • Develop, manage, and grow strategic accounts through a deep understanding of the category, account strategies and finding solutions within our products and services.
  • Develop and execute key account and channel segment strategies.
  • Hire, manage, train, support and motivate broker sales agencies.
  • Create and deliver compelling programs and presentations that differentiate from the competition.
  • Utilize CRM to optimize account management and communication.
  • Effectively inform sales and product forecasting for clients and markets.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports for clients and markets.
  • Collaborate, support and partner with trade manager, marketing & customer marketing teams consistently.
  • Extensive travel including international.
  • Collaborate with clients and perform business reviews as needed.
  • Engage with Research and Development to drive menu ideation and new product/project initiatives.
  • Acts as a technical representative to the client, providing training and creating sales presentations, providing solutions to business issues facing the customer.
  • Leads the coordination of multiple resources to successfully close sales on new accounts.
  • Develops account sales plan and sets strategy for assigned accounts.
  • Fiscal accountability to work within an assigned budget.
  • Travel 50%

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • 5 + years progressive National or Regional Account Foodservice sales experience
  • Demonstrated sales planning, forecasting and sales execution experience.
  • Demonstrated strong sales analytical, organizational, and planning abilities, which include sales, trade and marketing concepts and methods in the sales environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups.
  • Strong aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customerspecific tactical plans and options.
  • Experience in trade spending management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, decisionmaking and negotiation skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • The ability to work through complex, unstructured problems.
