If this sounds appealing to you, then consider our Transportation Engineering Intern opportunity. The position is based in Houston, Texas.

    Tetra Tech is currently seeking Civil Engineering applicants for a summer internship position within our Texas Transportation group. Candidates should be highly motivated individuals with an interest in transportation/infrastructure construction and/or design. This role will be in-office for the duration of the internship to ensure proper training and hands on experience is provided.

    Your Role:

    • Assist in the design of projects that involve drainage analysis, roadway geometrics, traffic engineering, pedestrian mobility, utility design, and utility coordination
    • Aid in performing conceptual and detailed design calculations, preparation of detailed engineering reports/analyses, and supporting documents
    • Help with the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
    • Assist with program management for projects designed by other firms
    • Familiar with relevant design criteria and industry standards from clients
    • Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
    • Interface with other engineering disciplines
    • Plan, coordinate and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner
    Qualifications:
    • Student enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program in Civil Engineering, preferably graduating in 2024
    • Prior internship/work experience in Civil Engineering Transportation industry, preferred
    • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Software, to include Outlook, Office and Excel
    • Skilled in crafting email correspondence; communicating clear, concise, professional, and effective written communication
    • Familiarity in Microstation Geopack or Open Roads Designer (ORD), is a plus
    • Enthusiastic about learning and adapting to Tetra Tech's Company Culture
    • Open and willing to work in-office for the duration of internship
