    Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

    Job Purpose: The Human Resources Generalist manages both the strategic planning responsibilities and administrative tasks in every area of HR, including recruiting, compensation and benefits and employee training.

    Reports To: Human Resources Supervisor

    Location: On-site at corporate headquarters in Monticello, Indiana and On-site at Kentland, Indiana Location

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plan onboarding strategies
    • Perform new employee orientation for new employees to deliver an exceptional first day experience.
    • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
    • Recommend and develop employee relations practices to foster a positive employer-employee relationship.
    • Submit and investigate unemployment issues.
    • Submit and track WOTC.
    • Process and verify child labor compliance.
    • Submit paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc. to payroll clerk.
    • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to performance evaluations.
    • Coordinate employee satisfaction surveys and give actionable insights to improve employees experience.
    • Support employees when human resources issues arise with efficient problem-solving.
    • Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures to ensure employees safety.
    • Oversee employee labor laws and regulations to assure compliance.
    • Verifies I-9 documentation and audit.
    • Help prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scale.
    • Improve recruitment and retention.
    • Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends.
    • Prepare all documents for Accounts Payable and submit all approved A/P information.
    • Must be in charge of collecting all credit card receipts: All documents must state reason for expense, who was involved, and what business was discussed.
    • Advises managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefits and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification programs and maintaining knowledge base of these issues.
    • Prepare documents in support of various employee events including new hires, promotions, merit increases, transfers and separations and coordinating with managers as appropriate. Obtain all applicable signatures/approvals prior to processing.
    • Help provide employee benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and answering questions, acting as liaison with payroll clerk administration of the benefits.
    • Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
    • Ensures the organizations and plans compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and RISA.
    • Develop strong working relationships to aid and support of company & department initiatives.
    • Serve as a role model for others to emulate as it relates to supporting the company culture and mission.
    • Support facilitation of employee and leadership training as needed on areas of expertise such as performance management, benefits, policy updates, etc.
    • Serve as primary contact for employee requests re: HRIS, benefits, and other administrative resources inquiries.
    • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    • Assist in the coordination of staffing and recruitment processes for Kentland Location
    • Work with Safety Associates on safety compliance
    • Assists with various research projects and/or special projects.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field

    Experience

    • 3+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
    • At least 1 year of experience in labor relations and compliance
    • At least 1 year of experience managing compensation and benefits programs.
    • 2+ years implementing tactics to improve performance management.
