    Description
    Job Title:
    Metal Fabricator/Welder at GTI

    Description:
    As a Metal Fabricator/Welder at GTI, your main responsibility will be using hand-welding or flame cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, fill holes, indentations, or seams in fabricated metal products. You'll be tasked with performing welding repairs on heavy equipment and machinery, fabricating metal parts, and developing automation mechanical solutions to increase efficiency.

    Responsibilities:
    • Operate manual machine shop machines like mill, lathe, saws, and grinders effectively
    • Perform maintenance, repair, welding, and construction on metal products independently
    • Conduct manual machining, shaping, heat treating, and sizing of metal products
    • Utilize cutting torches, welding machines, grinders, etc., to join and fabricate metal parts
    • Assist in suggesting automation improvements and maintenance
    • Knowledge of PLC and automation is a big plus
    • Maintain equipment, ensure a safe work environment, and keep accurate records
    • Inspect completed work for quality
    • Work more than 40 hours when needed
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States
    Educational Requirements:
    • Welding Certification, Vocational Education, or High School diploma
    • Preferably one to two years of relevant work experience
    • Familiarity with welding tools and equipment
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    Occasional Duties:
    Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist in other divisions when necessary.

    Schedule:
    • Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm; flexibility for extended hours and weekends
    NOTE: Qualified candidates will undergo welding and machining tests during the interview. Protective gear like welding helmets and gloves are required for the interview.

    Physical Demands:
    • Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, using hands and arms, and good vision capabilities
