- Develop and apply knowledge of air movement as a fluid through complex mechanical systems and thermal energy exchange between components.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of related engineering experience
- Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering with focus on heat transfer or fluid mechanics
- Demonstrated experience with tools for design, testing, and analysis related to thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, flow networks, or heat transfer.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with gas turbine design
- Ability to plan, execute, and document engineering activities across multiple projects simultaneously

Description
The Advanced Technology Organization, Thermal System Design Staff Engineer will report to the GE Aerospace Evendale site Thermal Manager, and define and deliver solutions for GE jet engines. In this role you will conduct analyses and tests to optimize combustor design using heat transfer and fluid mechanics analysis tools, rig testing, and engine testing. You will contribute to new product introduction, product improvement, and manufacturing issue resolution with mechanical design engineers. Components include hardware such as blades, nozzles, heat exchangers, seals, and mechanical/fluid systems.

This role requires candidates to be U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other individuals under U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Proof of status will be needed prior to employment.
