Sr. Buyer Planner

The Senior Buyer Planner is responsible for performing a wide variety of production planning activities and supports procurement, as required. Responsible for managing assigned product lines, commodities and supplier bases.

**Essential Functions**

Attends and provides input during project meetings, production whiteboard meetings, sales/planning meetings and material shortage meetings

Processes ECOs

Releases and manages work orders and rework work-orders

Supports Repair

Forecasts updating in ERP

Responsible for parts procurement, product on-time-delivery, materials on-time-delivery, linear shipment scheduling and processing non-conforming material

Responsible for sales order ship date maintenance and establishing sales order shipment dates

Provides NPI project support, as needed

Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials

Purchases materials, using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels

Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards

Develops specifications for new contract orders

Obtains materials, components and equipment

Evaluates vendor reliability, develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate

Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value, and all other duties as assigned

Requirements **Required Education, Experience & Skills**

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain or a related field; or High School Diploma and equivalent work related experience

Work experience in purchasing or in Supply Chain

A minimum of 5 years of experience performing, purchasing, and production planning, or equivalent duties, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Intermediate skill in all MS Office applications

Must have strong communication, organizational & customer service skills

Should have good computer knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity & be able perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis

Past job performance must reflect dependability, maturity, initiative, personal demeanor, & the ability to exercise sound judgment

Ability to successfully lead, implement and complete projects

**Preferred Education, Experience & Skills**

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl)

Six Sigma or Continues Improvement experience

Supply Chain Certificates
