At the Mühlenkreiskliniken (AöR), the Johannes Wesling Hospital in Minden is a university hospital of the Ruhr University Bochum with 17 departments/clinics, 1 private practice clinic, and 4 institutes.

We are currently seeking reinforcements for the palliative care unit and certified organ centers at the Johannes Wesling Hospital.


Your responsibilities:


  • Counseling for women and men affected by oncological diseases and their families regarding the options for psychoeducation and possible psychooncological support
  • Shortterm psychooncological treatment and crisis intervention in individual sessions for patients of the organ centers and palliative care unit, as well as their families
  • Longterm support in coping with the illness and the consequences of medical treatment through individual and group sessions as part of psychoeducation, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation of continuous psychoeducational group offerings
  • Participation in crosssector quality circles and case discussions
  • Supervision opportunities for staff members of the palliative care unit and organ centers, as needed and agreed upon.

Your profile:


  • License as a psychologist with a focus on clinical psychology; license as a psychological psychotherapist or advanced psychotherapy training
  • Recognized psychooncological training (WPO) or at least a willingness to obtain it
  • Organizational skills, teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, resilience, and empathy in dealing with cancer patients and their families
