    Position Description:
    The Technical Writer/Editor is tasked with producing, maintaining, and updating a variety of technical documents that are essential for military operations and communication. This role involves working closely with defense professionals, engineers, and subject matter experts to create clear and accurate documentation, such as manuals, procedures, reports, and proposals. The Technical Writer/Editor ensures these materials meet DoD standards and are understandable to their intended audience, often involving complex technical content. Key responsibilities include researching technical information, writing and editing documents for clarity and precision, and ensuring adherence to established formatting and stylistic guidelines. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to convey technical concepts in a comprehensible manner. The Technical Writer/Editor must be capable of handling sensitive or classified information with discretion and must be familiar with DoD security protocols. Effective communication, organization skills, and the ability to manage deadlines are important in this role, as is staying updated with current industry trends and best practices in technical writing and editing.

    Requires Security Clearance: Personnel must possess a final DoD-granted SECRET security clearance

    Education: High School diploma/GED

    Experience:

    • Minimum of five years of experience in creating and editing technical documents
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
    • Proficient with setting up and managing Microsoft SharePoint document repositories
    • Working knowledge of DOD Section 508 requirements as they pertain to documentation
