    Description


    The city of Lowell is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Civil Engineer, Grade 4 in the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division.

    This position reports to the department head and the Chief Engineer and assists City Engineer as directed.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing engineering support, technical reviews of site plans, project design, preparation of bid documents and preparation of construction estimates.

    Responsible for the intake, review and process of all permits issued by Lowell Engineering Department and engineering/construction project management work.


    Minimum requirements:

    bachelor's degree or higher with a major in civil engineering plus four years of professional experience in CE or, in substitution, a minimum of an AS degree in CE with six years of CE work, including engineering disciplines such as construction, survey, design, sanitary, drafting, highway, calculating and computer operation.

    Driver's license required with good driving history; Massachusetts registered professional land surveyor preferred. EIT desirable.


    Salary range:
    $44.63(min) to $49.67 (max) per hour; 40 hours/week.
