    Description


    The city of Lowell is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Civil Engineer, Grade 3 in the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division.

    This position reports to the Commissioner of Public Works, City Engineer and works with the City Engineer and staff on a variety of municipal engineering projects as directed by the City Engineer and Commissioner of Public Works.

    Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.

    A bachelor's degree in civil engineering and two years of experience; or an associate degree in a construction related field and four years of engineering experience such as roadway/sidewalk design and construction, survey, drainage, sewer, and cost estimate.

    Proficient computer skills including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Microsoft Office.

    Valid driver's license required, EIT desirable, OSHA 10 hours construction safety training or ability to obtain within six months of hire.


    Salary range:
    $39.27 (min) to $43.61 (max) per hour, 40 hours/week.
