    Summary of Job Duties:
    The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner. This includes calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, as well as ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and responding to employee inquiries regarding their pay.

    • Process payroll for communcations center employees on a bi-weekly basis
    • Calculate wages, deductions, and taxes
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
    • Maintain accurate payroll records
    • Respond to employee inquiries regarding their pay
    • Assist with year-end payroll processing
    • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations
    • Maintains all personnel files
    • Answers multi-line phone and directs calls.
    • Serves as main point of contact for calls and visitors during regular business hours.
    • Takes messages, requests, and questions received and distributes appropriately.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • College-level coursework and experience which evidences a thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures and government structure and process
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and budgetary process helpful
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above qualifications
