Description
The Sr. Group Reinsurance Account Manager interprets treaties, populates and maintains Raptor with client-specific reinsurance terms. Responsible for managing assigned group reinsurance contracts that, in the aggregate, generate annualized premiums of approximately $30M or more.Maintains internal and external customer relationships to ensure accuracy with contracts, premium and reporting, and appropriately sets and manages accruals and applies premium/commissions.
Provide mentoring and coaching.Responsibilities
Independently interprets contracts and account data to ensure timely and accurate set-up and maintenance of assigned business in the Group Reinsurance administration system (Raptor).
Creates and manages accruals and collects, analyzes, and reports overdue balances. Accruals directly impact company financials.
Analyzes and applies premiums and commissions within specified timeframes to maintain low average suspense balance, which impacts the finances of the Company.
May prepare facultative Certificates of Reinsurance, which can require collaboration with Treaty Development and/or Legal.Oftentimes reviews complex treaty terms and identifies discrepancies and recommends modifications, as appropriate.
Adheres to all timelines required by SOX and internal risk control processes to ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned business.
Provides Raptor and business process support to internal partners for assigned group reinsurance treaties, some of which is complex and requires specialized knowledge.
Coordinates data acquisition from clients (some of whom may be sensitive customers) and various internal sources for both new and renewal business.
Responsible for leading experience refund calculations and settlements.Conducts reviews of peers' premium and Raptor contract entries to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. Provides coaching and mentoring to peers, where appropriate.
Reports issues, recommends enhancements and tests the Group Reinsurance administration and imaging systems.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
2+ years accounting, reinsurance administration and contract review and/or development experience
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in a technical/professional, project lead, or supervisory position
Ability to travel up to 5%

Intermediate or greater accounting knowledge
