Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Director, Product Communications & Public Affairs, Immunology, located in Spring House, PA.


The Director, Product Communications & Public Affairs, Immunology is responsible for planning, developing and implementing cohesive communication strategies that competitively position Johnson & Johnson Immunology in its journey to become the #1 Immunology company in the world.

This role will connect the respective communication strategies across assets and disease areas to tell a consistent, comprehensive story that resonates with healthcare professionals, patients, J&J associates and other partners.

To accomplish this, the individual will work in close partnership with fellow Global Immunology Communication colleagues to support product communications across the lifecycle; leverage communications to help drive the market shaping approaches and critical policy items identified by the Immunology TA; drive online health advocate / patient influencer strategies; manage business development communications; and partner closely with Regional Communications colleagues to ensure the global Immunology narrative is relevant and appropriate for their markets.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Partner with key stakeholders in R&D, GCSO, Global Portfolio Communications, J&J IM Communications and GCA to effectively connect the various TA asset and disease area messages to ensure we are telling a comprehensive Immunology story. Create and launch both broad and targeted Immunology campaigns that support the larger _Leading Where Medicine is Going _platform.
  • Support product communications from early assets through launched products with an agility that allows for this role to effectively address peak activity related to key landmarks and activities across the Immunology pipeline/portfolio.
  • Coordinate with Global Immunology Communication colleagues to seamlessly integrate relevant public affairs approaches into a unified and comprehensive strategy for medical congresses and presentation opportunities, which may involve presentations across multiple brands.
  • Drive the development of abovebrand strategies that clearly position Immunology's impact on our targeted disease areas, such as web content, social media campaigns, presentations, advertisements, speaking engagements, patient engagement, recruiting efforts, etc., ensuring Immunology leaders are represented in relevant online topics.
  • Thought partner with Global Immunology Communication colleagues on existing patient engagement programs to create winwin relationships with online health advocates, gaining insights to effectively support individuals impacted by our disease areas and, in turn, effectively inform our outreach to large patient populations.
  • Work closely with Business Development, the Innovation Centers and Investor Relations to develop integrated communication strategies related to business deals.
  • Coordinate connections with regional communicators to foster a One Team attitude across Immunology, encouraging twoway updates and identifying issues/opportunities that should be shared more broadly.
  • Champion the "pull through" of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine global access value and pricing messaging into the Global Immunology framework, working with GCSO Communication colleagues.
  • Act as a connector among the various Johnson & Johnson Global Corporate Affairs colleagues to enable transparency and offer line of sight to the various communication activities across the Enterprise, ultimately working to identify opportunities to elevate and support plans.
  • Develop/complete internal communication strategies for Immunology to engage employees and internal partners around the TA Vision and Mission. And, in the process, strengthen their understanding of the TA's strategic priorities.
  • Leverage key channels to tell the Immunology story, which include news articles, intranet site, quarterly townhalls and various internal initiatives with a focus on reaching J&J IM R&D, the global commercial strategy organization, regional commercial organizations and the larger J&J IM and J&J organizations.
  • Participate in special communication projects, as assigned, working with crossTA, functional area teams and Global Communications leaders as needed to meet business objectives.

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a background in healthcare
  • Experience leading communication agencies and assigned budgets
  • Proven track record operating in a collaborative, complex environment managing multiple business partners
  • Social media proficiency
  • Standard digital literacy
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, complex, everchanging environment

Salary:

The base pay range for this position is $137,000 - $235,750.
