QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in
    Health Education 512, or Health/Phys Ed

K-12:


  • Additional content area licensure is encouraged
  • An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism, and bias, and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities

Job Details

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and implementing standardsbased lessons with clear objectives
  • Providing appropriate and effective learning experiences for students from a wide range of socioeconomic levels and cultural backgrounds
  • Using a variety of formal and informal assessments to accurately measure student progress toward mastery of gradelevel physical education standards and to modify further instruction.
  • Providing a motivating and stimulating, safe and supportive learning environment
  • Developing and maintaining pupilteacher relationships conducive to effective teaching and learning
  • Evaluates pupils' physical and social growth, maintains appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
  • Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior
  • Participating in schoolwide and departmentwide professional development activities
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and the community, including collaborating with colleagues on curriculum, lesson and assessment design
  • Using computers and other technology to support and enhance student learning in physical education in and out of the classroom
  • Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans
  • Willingness to participate in school events

REPORTS TO:
Principal

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the agreement with the Lynn Teachers Union (LTU).


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


  • As negotiated with Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union.
  • 180 days per year

$54, $97,492.00 per year
