QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in
Health Education 512, or Health/Phys Ed

K-12:

Additional content area licensure is encouraged
An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism, and bias, and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities

Job Details

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and implementing standardsbased lessons with clear objectives
Providing appropriate and effective learning experiences for students from a wide range of socioeconomic levels and cultural backgrounds
Using a variety of formal and informal assessments to accurately measure student progress toward mastery of gradelevel physical education standards and to modify further instruction.
Providing a motivating and stimulating, safe and supportive learning environment
Developing and maintaining pupilteacher relationships conducive to effective teaching and learning
Evaluates pupils' physical and social growth, maintains appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior
Participating in schoolwide and departmentwide professional development activities
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and the community, including collaborating with colleagues on curriculum, lesson and assessment design
Using computers and other technology to support and enhance student learning in physical education in and out of the classroom
Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans
Willingness to participate in school events

REPORTS TO:
Principal

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the agreement with the Lynn Teachers Union (LTU).

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

As negotiated with Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union.
180 days per year
