    Currently seeking a staff accountant in the Richmond, VA area for our fast-growing CPA client. 4 out of 5 rating on Glassdoor

    Hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days a week in-office).


    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established accounting standards and regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and other financial reports for clients.
    • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities and propose corrective actions as necessary.
    • Collaborate with senior accountants and partners to support audit engagements and tax planning strategies.
    • Utilize accounting software such as Ultra Tax, QuickBooks (desktop and online), Excel, AdvanceFlow, and GoFileRoom to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Participate in client meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
    • Assist with the preparation of client budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations, tax laws, and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide proactive advisory services.
    • Support the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
    • Foster positive relationships with clients through effective communication and exceptional service delivery.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
    • CPA certification or pursuing CPA designation preferred.
    • Previous experience in a public accounting firm or similar role highly desirable.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Team player with a proactive and client-centric approach.
    • Adaptable to changing priorities and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
