    The role of **Grant Writer/Gifts Officer** involves building and nurturing relationships with potential donors, such as individuals, volunteers, foundations, and corporations in surrounding areas across the 30 counties served by Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma. The primary focus is on fundraising to achieve budget targets related to six key business hubs within the Council's area. Key responsibilities include prospecting donors, conducting research, establishing donor networks, and securing new funding. Frequent travel across the 30 counties in eastern Oklahoma is a core aspect of this role. This position emphasizes safety.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors in identified outlying areas within the Council's jurisdiction.
    • Organize and conduct weekly meetings to secure new funding, with a focus on maximizing impact in the counties served by GSEOK.
    • Collaborate with the Special Event Coordinator to provide support and guidance to volunteer-led committees in outlying regions for successful event execution and achieving revenue targets.
    • Identify, research, and prioritize leads from business hubs as needed.
    • Analyze the current donor database to plan next steps, including opportunities with individuals, companies, and Girl Scout alumni.
    • Contribute to expanding the donor network through research, coordinating follow-up strategies with the Fund Development Team, and making specific funding requests.
    • Work with the Fund Development Team on donor strategies, future plans, and engaging board members and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Participate in donor meetings, manage follow-up activities, and make funding requests.
    • Engage in strategic planning for fundraising initiatives.
    • Prepare and submit grant applications.
    • Perform additional assigned tasks.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in donor research, fundraising, business development, or a similar field.
    • Valid driver's license in the state of employment.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective presentation abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
    • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adhere to set routines.
    • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
    • Extended periods of desk work and computer use.
    • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.

    Additional Information:

    • Salary: $48,000 - $55,000 annually
    • Minimum Experience: 3-5 Years
    • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree/Undergraduate
    • Travel Requirement: 25-50%
