    Description

    A hedge fund in New York City is actively seeking a new Credit Analyst to join their growing team in Manhattan. In this role, the Credit Analyst will be responsible for screening bid lists and offerings to underwrite investments in Residential Mortgage Backed Securities that are suitable for investment mandates.

    Responsibilities

    The Credit Analyst will:

    • Model cashflows for asset based financing transactions and non-CUSIP investments
    • Negotiate legal documents with the Counsel and transaction counterparties
    • Discuss and engage with Traders and sales on new issue and secondary transactions to gather market intel
    • Generate new trade and investment ideas
    • Track asset performance data and refresh internal sector credit forecast
    • Help manage existing investments through active trading and timely market surveillance using market research and servicer reported data
    • Interface with firm's Marketing & Risk departments for IR and reporting
    • Perform other duties, as needed
    Qualifications
    • 1+ year of experience in ABS/RMBS Banking or Trading
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Demonstrated understanding of Private-label Structures, Legal documentation, Risk implications, and differences between various Securitized asset types
    • Proven skills in Cashflow Modeling
    • Microsoft Excel proficient
    • Solid analytical and research skills
    • Great interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Highly organized
