Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forwardPrimary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Traffic Engineer, we'll count on you to:
Perform complex traffic engineering projects, exercise sound engineering judgment, preparation of traffic signal plans, traffic impact analysis reports and PS&E documents.
Work as a key member of a design team in preparation of the following elements of roadway, street and/or highway design using local (state, county, or city) or AASHTO standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and right-of-way plans.
Work with a team as a project manager or task leader for primarily municipal projects in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimate for projects of various sizes and complexity.
Make decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed.Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, but project management is not sole focus of this position.
Supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed Perform other duties as needed.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringA minimum of 5 years traffic engineering/analysis. Experience in transportation a plus.
Professional Engineer in Louisiana, or obtain PE within 1 yearHands-on experience with Highway Capacity Software, Microstation and /or AutoCadProficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, WordStrong verbal and written skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhy HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
