    We are looking for an ITS Engineer-in-Training to join our Baton Rouge office

    **Responsibilities:**

    Provide Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) communication, computer, network, and software support to design, specifications, integration, and operations and maintenance of ITS systems.

    Assist with the concept, design, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the computer communication systems for data transport between transportation management centers and traffic control devices as well as assist in the hardware and software integration of those systems. Will be responsible for the enabling of multicenter control of remote systems.

    Assist with the concept, design, modelling and design of the street lighting systems for neighborhood developments, regional, and statewide projects.

    Work with Department of Transportation staff and their consultants in field inspection work and acceptance testing and general maintenance and troubleshooting of ITS field installations.

    Assist with maintaining databases, software configurations, and performing routine preventative maintenance of software, databases and servers. Will be required to document system configurations and procedures.

    Design, develop, and implement software, computer and communication systems with the latest technologies for the implementation of various transportation and information systems.

    Create and improve Advanced Traveler Information Systems for the traveling public.

    Assist with the integration of the traffic monitoring and management systems with the latest technologies such as web sites, Smartphone applications, and other information systems to help improve and the decision making of the traveling public and ultimately their safety.

    Individual will be responsible for developing software and web graphical user interfaces between databases and devices for data and control over multiple communication types.

    Develop performance data reporting.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Engineering (BSEE/BSECE) from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.

    Experience in communication systems, video integration, computer system design, software support, development of information dissemination systems to users of the latest technologies and platforms such as the WEB, Android, and iPhones and iPads is preferred.

    Experience in database, software, hardware, network, and/or communications design is preferred.

    E.I. certification is required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
